Friday, June 19th...

The day started at 5:30am.  I had to meet Carl Morris, in Denver, by 7am to start the 3 hour drive to Steamboat Springs.

You have got to love Colorado in June.  Nice cool temperatures and beautiful scenery.  This is Eisenhower tunnel from the east side (front range).

Made it to Steamboat Springs and watched part of the morning racing.  We grabbed a bite to eat and headed over to tech for the afternoon driving event only to find two more SVOs!  From left to right the SVOs belong to Ron Kay, Carl Morris and Alex Orolin.

This was Carl's first time as an Autocrosser.  He is into the drag/street racing scene, so he had a hard time remembering to turn! (just kidding Carl).  Carl ran a pretty good 71.621 second time on the track.  Pretty good for a first timer competing against several supercharged 5.0s.

Ron Kay from Colorado Springs really know how to drive his stock SVO.  His first run, he pulled off a 70.659 second time which held up in his class for a 3rd place award.

This beautiful 86 SVO was sitting off to the side at the Friday driving event.   This is, in my opinion, the best color they ever put on a SVO.  I did not get a chance to talk to the owner on Friday, so I was really looking forward to Saturday.

I know this is not SVO related but this is a one-of-a-kind built Saleen Cobra Convertible.  According to the owner, it was the only Saleen Cobra Convertible built with BASF Extreme Rainbow paint and a Vortech Supercharger.  You could buy a house for what this guy paid for his car, but look at it! COOL!
