Ported Exhaust manifold install
The later "E6" casting is a big improvement over the early exhaust manifold.  Port the manifold and you should see another 7hp over stock. I purchased the ported manifold from Nick at Modern Performance.  You can still buy the un-ported version from Ford for around $135.00

Check out the enlarged opening in the manifold, this called for a bigger stainless steel gasket from ATR to gasket match the opening.

Nick also opened up the head side of the manifold and ported the "log" section of the manifold.

The Advanced Technologies Research turbo gasket is high quality and worked great for this application.  I wish I could say that for their exhaust.

After running the car, I noticed a quicker spoolup on the turbo but I have not seen any performance gains from the manifold.  At this point Volvo IC is restricting the flow from the turbo so Volzilla is in the works. Stay tuned...
